MQI Coaching Summer Institute | Cambridge, MA
The MQI Coaching Institute is an opportunity for math coaches and supervisors to learn best practices and leverage resources from our team at Harvard University, so that they can replicate such positive results in their own school or district.
The four-day training will focus on the Mathematical Quality of Instruction (MQI) rubric—the cornerstone of our success—and how to use it as an effective coaching tool. The curriculum provides participants with an in-depth understanding of the MQI Coaching model and hands-on experience using the MQI to guide teachers’ growth. This workshop is geared toward instructional leaders in mathematics; particularly those who are providing feedback and support for mathematics teachers.
National Principals Conference | Boston, MAMQI Coaching: Improving Instruction through Research-Supported Feedback Routines
Friday, July 19, 2019 | 2:15–3:15 p.m. | Hynes Convention Center, Room 206
In this session, participants will learn practical approaches to improving instruction through observation and feedback using MQI Coaching protocols. MQI Coaching’s protocols leverage classroom video, a content-specific observation rubric (Mathematical Quality of Instruction, or MQI), and feedback routines that empower teachers to drive their own professional growth with the support of an instructional leader. Presenters will share practical knowledge and resources that can be used for giving feedback to teachers of any subject or grade level. The Harvard team will also discuss a randomized control trial of the MQI Coaching intervention and how it resulted in lasting improvements to instruction.
