Webinar: Coaching Routines for Equitable and Engaging Math Classrooms
Date and Time
This webinar features MQI Coaching’s collaboration with the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools and Illustrative Mathematics® to demonstrate the power of curriculum-specific coaching. See how the Partnership has strategically leveraged the MQI Coaching routines as part of a multi-year professional learning series designed to build instructional coaches' capacity and drive meaningful change in teaching practice and student outcomes.
Participants will observe a high-leverage coaching routine, “Describe and Elevate,” designed to strengthen the quality and impact of coaching conversations. By debriefing the example coaching routine, participants will identify best practices and recognize how to leverage the curriculum-specific IMplementation Reflection Tool (IRT) to ground classroom observations and coaching conversations. This session is designed to be interactive and actionable, offering concrete strategies immediately applicable to coaching work.
Join the full four-part webinar series, From Practice to Impact: Building Coaching Capacity to Advance and Sustain Instructional Improvements, hosted by the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools to explore the role of coaching and curriculum not only as instructional levers but as part of a broader, systems-level approach to improve teaching and learning.

About the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools
The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools is one of a few nonprofits in the country that co-manages LAUSD schools serving 13,000 students in historically underserved communities, integrating strong leadership, excellent teaching, and equity-driven systems change. Through aligned policy and advocacy, they expand opportunity and access for Black students and multilingual learners while transforming classrooms, schools, and district conditions simultaneously to drive lasting, scalable impact.
About Illustrative Mathematics
Illustrative Mathematics® (IM) is the nonprofit organization behind IM® Math, a problem-based TK–12 curriculum grounded in research on how students learn mathematics and rooted in the belief that all students can succeed. In IM classrooms, students engage in grade-level math every day, receiving support as needed so all can participate. They solve meaningful problems together while teachers lead discussions that connect student thinking to key mathematical ideas. IM helps schools and districts bring this approach to life through high-quality instructional materials and curriculum-based professional learning that are designed to work together.
